Department of Women’s Studies

Women’s Studies department was started its journey from the 2010-2011. Women’s studies, also known as gender studies, is an interdisciplinary academic field that focuses on understanding and examining issues related to women and gender. It explores the historical, cultural, social, economic and political factors that shape women’s experiences and examines how gender intersects with other identities such as race, class. Women’s studies also promote gender equality and social justice through research, education, and advocacy.

Women’s studies empowers individuals by providing them with knowledge and tools to challenge discrimination, advocate for gender justice, and work towards social change.
